Last Day Reflections
Last Day Reflections
1. What did you learn about photography that you did not know before?
I learned that photography takes time and much effort. Through this semester of photography my photos took hours to edit, photoshop, re-touch, re-size, brighten, and enhance. Taking the photos took little time but a lot of thinking and effort on how to take them, where to take them, and what to take pictures of. Most of the time i was fixing mistakes in my photos or retaking them. Photography taught me many new styles of photos that i will continue to use.
2. What did you learn about yourself this semester?
This semester i learned more about myself than in any other class. I learned that my style of taking photos and what i like to photograph is unique and stands out from anyone else's because my photos and I are different. I learned how to be more patient as well through the film and photoshop phases of this course.
3. What do you wish we had done that we did not?
I do wish we had done more film. I liked going through the process and learning the steps. It was exciting to develop the film and see the pictures we are capable of taking. It was a "wow" moment when those film negatives turn out because you didn't think you were capable of doing that. It was probably one of my favorite projects.
4. What was your struggle?
My struggle was probably the photoshop and editing part of the course. There were many styles of photoshop that were went through very quickly. Remembering all of the steps and what process was what was probably the most difficult project i have done all semester. Although it was fun to make clones, 180 degree and 360 degree photos, the editing process and combining all the pictures took a lot of time and gave me a lot of frustration. I would accidentally not save a finished picture, lose my photos, or save a picture under the wrong name and have to start over.
5. What did you conquer?
I feel like I conquered a lot this semester in photography. I never thought that i would be able to print pictures and be able to be proud of my assignments. I feel more creative when i'm in this class because its all based off of OUR perspective, what we enjoy taking pictures of, and our own thoughts. I think this is one of the best classes i have ever had in my school career so far. I hope to continue in this photography field in the future and maybe one day turn it into a career.
